About Me

Hello there! I'm Kyan Bradley, a passionate and driven university student pursuing a Bachelor of Computer and Information Science, undertaking a double major in Software Development and Networks and Cybersecurity.

Since a young age I have had a passion for anything tech related, whether that be building computers (and accidentally blowing them up), to tinkering with devices, to programming useless things.

If I had to describe myself I would say that I am motivated, have a high attention to detail, adaptable, and always willing to learn new things. I am a team player and enjoy working with others to achieve a common goal.

Work Experience

Starbucks New Zealand

Currently I am employeed as a certified barista for Starbucks NZ. I work in a fast-paced environment in one of the most busy stores in the country - Britomart. I find interacting with customers and connecting with them to be the most rewarding part of my job. It is enjoyable to be able to make someone's day with a simple cup of coffee.

Working at Starbucks has helped me to develop time management, communication, task prioritization, and teamwork skills. I have also developed a strong work ethic and a passion for customer service.

Tegal Henderson

Fresh out of highschool I worked for Tegal in their Henderson factory. I worked as a night shift worker who was responsible for the packaging and production of frozen chicken products. My team every night were responsible for the production of over 5 tons of chichen per night. I felt satisfaction from seeing the sheer quantity of product that came off our line.

My Work

Over the past years I have worked on many different projects which range from programming to electrical engineering. I have a passion for learning and I am always looking for new ways to solve problems.

Task Flow - AUT (Current 2023)

At the moment I am developing a program with my team for one of my programming courses which would allow for users to automatically manage their schedule and gamify their tasks. The assignment requires teams to follow the Agile methodology and to use the Scrum framework to develop the program. For this project I am acting as the scrum master. It is still in the very early development as we are in the first sprint. It has helped me develop skills in the following areas:

Checkers - AUT (2023)

One of the most recent projects that I have undertaken was my recent school project for my one of my Software development papers. The project was to create a program of my choosing in Java. The game that I had created had two versions, one using a GUI and the other using a command line interface. The game was a simple checkers game which allowed two players to play against each other.

This project required proper design, planning and development techniques. Developing this project helped me to hone skills in the following areas:

Custom Keyboard Design - 2022 to Present

For the better part of the past couple years as a hobby I have tried to develop custom keyboard from scratch. This meant designing the PCB and the case. This reqired reading hundreds of pages of documentation and learning MCU acritecture and design. For the MCU it uses the at90usb646. At the moment the design phase has been completed, but the boards have not been manufactured yet.

Student Registry RFID Management System - Highschool (2021)

In highschool I developed a project for my final year ICT course. This project was to solve the current problem that schools face of wasting time having to take attendence for every class. The solution that I came up with was to use RFID technology to allow students to scan in and out of class. This would allow teachers to see who was in class and who was not.

This project won me the 2021 123Tech highschool solo division competition run by IT Professionals NZ.

This project was developed using the following technologies and gave me experience in the following areas:

Milky Website - Highschool (2021)

Before the development of the SRRMS project mentioned above, I was assigned a assignment which required the development of a simple single page website. This website's purpose was to develop skills in CSS and javascript. The website took me less than a week to developed and was a simple website which was designed to be a landing page for a fictional ice cream company called 'Milky.' That project serves as a basis for this current website. This project gave me experience in the following areas:

Blind Low Vision Website and Application - Highschool (2020)

This project was a year long assignment design was for students to create application for Blind and Low NZ. The original project only required the development of a website, but I decided to go above and beyond and develop an application as well. The website was designed to be a landing page for the organization and the application was designed to be a tool for the organization to use to manage users attending their events. This project gave me experience in the following areas:
